Teams expected as usual from Belgium, England, Germany and Holland.

We have qualified UK and Dutch referees following the rules of the IRB.
Our recently extended clubhouse will have plenty of refreshing food and beverages.
Children more than welcome.
Tournament fee only € 60 / £ 40 per team.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S RUGBY TOURNAMENT

ON SATURDAY 24TH AND SUNDAY 25TH OF MAY 2008

VERDUN – FRANCE

Hello ,

first , I would like to introduce myself . My name is Nathalie Pouzenc , I‘m French , I am in charge of the ladies rugby teams in the north east of France.

I‘m organizing for the third time an international tournament ( 20 euros/person entry fee required ) taking place this time on the Spring bank holiday week-end in the populous city of Verdun in the heart of the most important events of World War 1 with the most famous battle of the century . http://www.verdun-tourisme.com/

There are different ways of coming to Verdun ( in the northeastern France ) :

1 / Fly to Paris and then take the train ‘TGV MEUSE ‘ ( only 1 hour journey ) at the ‘gare de l’ EST ‘. This way would be a great opportunity to visit Paris at the same time. If you book a long time before, the prices are really cheap . http://www.cg55.fr/cadredevie/tgv.html

I ‘m looking for ladies rugby teams ( SENIORS) to join us . There will be 5 foreign teams and three French teams . You just need to ask your federation for the permission to tour overseas and to send it back to me .

In a few words , I’m going to tell you how the week-end will go just to give you an idea (more details in the entry form )

Satuday : teams welcome – sightseeing –night at the hotel

Sunday : breakfast , lunch , game , a snack after the games

The night at the hotel , breakfast , lunch snack are free.

Men’s, Women’s and U17 Youth tournament

The beautiful baroque city of Dresden is the backdrop for this tournament which will take place on 20th (men and women) & 21st (U17) June 2008. Dresden located in the southern part of former East Germany approximately between Berlin and Prague and near both the Polish and Czech borders. The tournament will coincide with a huge street party (100 000 people 2008!) called the “Bunte Republik Neustadt” which will be centred around Dresden’s lively Pub and Club district – the “Neustadt”.
15 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams are expected on Saturday 20th June and 15 youth teams (U17) are expected on Sunday. Each of the men’s teams and youth (U17) teams will play a minimum of 4 games in the three groups with a possible two extra games for the semi finals and finals. The women will play in two groups and will play 4-5 games each, including a cup and a plate semi finals and cup and plate finals.

The registration deadline is the 28th May. An entrance fee for adult teams to the competition of 60€ (for 1 team) or 80€ (for two teams) and 25€ (for 1 team) or 40€ (for 2 teams).
