6th Georg Holek Cup – 4th Old Golden Prague International Rugby Vets Tournament (for 40+ of age) will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from May 29 till June 2, 2008. All details are available on the link

Some basic information about a personality of Georg Holek, founder of Rugby Club Konstanz in Germany and regular games of Czech and German veteran national teams is available there as well. This event will be also organised on the occasion of 20 years of Old Boys Praha and the whole Czech veterans rugby movement.

Although it seems there is a plenty of time for booking, Old Boys Praha accept first applications to this event on the basis first come, first served.

Siebenerrugby-EM 2008 in Hannover

Der 78. Kongress des Europäischen Rugby-Verbandes (FIRA-A.E.R.) hat am 16. Juni 2007 in Monaco entschieden, dass das Finalturnier der VII. Europameisterschaft im Siebenerrugby im Juni 2008 in der niedersächsischen Landeshauptstadt Hannover stattfinden wird.

Die Delegierten der 44 Mitgliedsnationen der FIRA-A.E.R. votierten einstimmig für den Antrag des Deutschen Rugby-Verbandes (DRV). Nach der sorgfältig vorbereiteten Präsentation durch Achim Behring-Scheil, den Vorsitzenden des ausrichtenden Niedersächsischen Rugby-Verbandes (NRV), und durch Klaus Timäus, den Sportdirektor im Rathaus von Hannover, haben die Mitbewerber Bosnien-Herzegowina, Griechenland und Russland ihre Bewerbung während der Sitzung zurückgezogen. The FIRA-AER (European Rugby-Board) decided today in Monaco to grant the Finals of Europeans Nations Cup 7s Rugby to the city of Hannover in Germany. After the presentation by the head of Lower-Saxony Rugby Board, Achim Behring-Scheil, the other contestants (Bosnia-Herzegowina, Greece, Russia/Moscow) pulled out.
