The Dendermonde Rugbyclub is proud to announce you the 14th edition of the “Flanders Open Rugby Tens” tournament. We organise the “Flanders Open Rugby Tens”, an international rugbytournament in the weekend of May 26 & 27, 2007 with 40 teams from all over the world.
As in previous years we are choosing for 10’s Rugby as this provides a better game formula for both players and spectators. The game is more energetic and the tries are most often very spectacular. Those present at previous editions of our tournament will certainly confirm this.
The DRC is playing in Belgium’s first national division and has continuously placed itself in the top 2 of the Belgian championship. During the past 13 years, the tournament has become the biggest in his kind in Europe. Each year, more and more interested clubs react to our invitation. The last two years we have had teams from the U.S.A., Canada, Russia, Israel, South Africa, Serbia, Scotland, England, Wales, Switzerland, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. As you see we receive teams from all over the world. In this way we like to invite your club. You are more than welcome.
From Friday May 25th (18h00), you will be welcome on our grounds. On Saturday May 26th, the first games will kick-off at 09h30 sharp (You may best arrive on Friday-evening!)
On the Saturday-night there will be a marvellous Rugbyparty in the big tent. On Sunday we start at 10h00 and the games will be played until 18h00. The referees are flown in from England
TOURNAMENT-FEE
€ 250 (€ 125 will be paid back at the tournament in the form of tickets). The ultimate date to book is 2007, January 15.
LODGING
A rugbytournament doesn’t necessary have to be expensive. On our tournament, everybody sleeps in large and comfortable tents around the pitch. This provides us with a unique tournament-atmosphere.

Round 1 – Saturday May 26th
– 20 Men Teams 5 groups of 4 teams
– 16 Ladies Teams 4 groups of 4 teams
– 8 Veterans (Old Boys) Teams 2 groups of 4 teams
Round 2 – Sunday May 27th
Men
The first 6 qualifiers of the first day will play for “The Cup”;
The next 6 (7-12) will play for “The Plate”;
The last 8 (13-20) will play for “The Bowl”.
Ladies
The first 6 qualifiers of the first day will play for “The Cup”;
The next 6 (7-12) will play for “The Plate”;
The last 4 (13-16) will play for “The Bowl”.
Veterans (Old Boys)

– Referees: All the referees are members of the “EAST MIDLANDS RUGBY UNION REFEREES SOCIETY” (England)
– Each game will last for twice 10 minutes

We are looking forward to your subscription. May we urge you to react quickly and send us back the subscriptionform in annex. There are limited team spaces available.
We operate a very simple “first pay will play” rule, and do not reserve any slots aside for one for last year’s winner. We maintain a waiting list when the tournament is fully booked. The changes of re-entering a team from that list are almost non-existent.
