Not only was the standard of play very high, the atmosphere and banter was through the roof! I would advise anyone who enjoys rugby sevens and good times to get down there this year. I certainly will be!! I went down with my Uni team the standard of rugby really good only surpassed by the banter afterwards! The tournament will coincide with a huge street party (100 000 people 2008!) called the “Bunte Republik Neustadt” which will be centred around Dresden’s lively Pub and Club district – the “Neustadt”. 15 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams are expected on Saturday 20th June and 15 youth teams (U17) are expected on Sunday. Each of the men’s teams and youth (U17) teams will play a minimum of 4 games in the three groups with a possible two extra games for the semi finals and finals.
